Therapy begins with an initial consultation so that we can understand your unique circumstances and difficulties. We will spend some time asking you questions to understand your situation and develop a treatment plan.
Our clinic specializes in providing cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), a psychological treatment that has been scientifically proven to be effective for a wide range of mental health difficulties. CBT is a short-term (8-20 sessions), skills-based approach designed to teach you skills for better managing unhelpful thoughts and behaviours that are keeping you stuck. Our goal is to teach you a set of skills so that by the end of therapy, you will have the tools you need to be your own therapist.
Insomnia Treatment Program
We offer a 6-session course that teaches how to implement CBT skills to manage chronic insomnia. CBT is a scientifically proven psychological treatment for sleep problems and is considered the first-line treatment for insomnia. The course teaches strategies designed to improve sleep quality and reduce problems associated with chronic insomnia. Before enrolling in the course, an assessment is required to ensure that the content will be appropriate for you. We offer clinical supervision and mentorship to individuals who have completed their graduate training and are registering with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact us to discuss training options.
